Copyright Infringement Policy - Free Global
Copyright Infringement Policy - Free Global

Introduction

At Free Global, we are committed to maintaining a safe and legal environment for all users. Copyright infringement undermines the hard work of creators and disrupts the integrity of the music industry. This policy outlines our approach to addressing copyright violations, protecting the rights of copyright holders, and taking appropriate action against infringing content.

Understanding Copyright Infringement

Copyright infringement occurs when copyrighted material is used without permission from the copyright holder or outside the scope of authorized use. The material in question may include music, artwork, lyrics, sound recordings, and any other form of content protected by copyright laws.

Infringement can happen through unauthorized uploads, sharing, or distribution of copyrighted works without the consent of the rights holder. Free Global aims to identify and address all cases of infringement swiftly and efficiently.

Our Commitment to Copyright Protection

Free Global is dedicated to upholding copyright laws and safeguarding the rights of content creators. We take every possible measure to prevent the distribution of unauthorized content on our platform, including:

  • Implementing content recognition and fingerprinting technology.
  • Monitoring user-uploaded material for potential violations.
  • Responding promptly to copyright infringement notices from rights holders.

We also respect the rights of users to appeal any allegations of infringement they may face, and we aim for a fair and transparent process for all parties involved.

How Copyright Owners Can Report Infringements

If you believe your copyrighted work has been infringed upon, please follow these steps to report the infringement to Free Global:

  • Submit a written notice detailing the work that is being infringed.
  • Provide information about the specific location of the infringing content (e.g., the URL or track name).
  • Confirm your ownership or authorization to act on behalf of the copyright holder.
  • Provide your contact information, including a valid email address and phone number.

We will review the submission and take appropriate action, which may include removing or disabling access to the infringing material in question.

Steps We Take in Response to Copyright Infringement

When we receive a valid notice of copyright infringement, we take immediate action to prevent further unauthorized use of the material. Our steps may include:

  • Content Removal: Infringing content will be removed or disabled from the platform within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Account Suspension: Repeated violations may result in the temporary or permanent suspension of the End User's account.
  • Notification: We will inform the End User of the removal and the reasons behind it, providing them an opportunity to respond or dispute the claim.

If the End User has a good faith belief that the content was mistakenly removed, they may submit a counter-notice to request the restoration of the content.

Counter-Notice Procedure

If you are the End User who has had content removed due to an infringement notice and believe the content was removed in error, you have the right to file a counter-notice. The counter-notice must include the following information:

  • A statement under penalty of perjury that the content was removed due to mistake or misidentification.
  • The End User's contact information and a statement that they consent to the jurisdiction of the court in the relevant legal jurisdiction.
  • A signature or electronic signature of the End User.

Once the counter-notice is received, Free Global will review the information and may restore the content unless the copyright owner takes further legal action within a set period of time.

Preventing Copyright Infringement

As part of our commitment to reducing copyright infringement, we encourage users to:

  • Only upload content that they own or have the right to distribute.
  • Obtain proper licensing for any third-party material they wish to use.
  • Familiarize themselves with copyright laws and the importance of respecting intellectual property.

We also provide resources to help users understand copyright laws and how to avoid infringement. By following these guidelines, we can collectively create a safer and more respectful environment for all users.

Prohibited Content

Free Global strictly prohibits the upload, distribution, or sale of the following types of content:

  • AI-generated music, samples, and songs that are not properly licensed.
  • Copywritten lyrics, cover songs, and unauthorized adaptations of original works.
  • Material that violates trademark laws, including unlicensed logos, trademarks, and branding.
  • Content that infringes on patents, proprietary designs, or trade secrets.
  • Any material that violates the rights of individuals, including but not limited to, privacy rights, and data protection laws.

Any user found uploading or distributing such prohibited content will face penalties, including account suspension or termination, and potential legal action. Free Global has a zero-tolerance policy for these violations to ensure the protection of intellectual property.

Penalties for Copyright Infringement

Copyright infringement can result in serious consequences, including:

  • Account Termination: Repeated infringement or severe violations may result in the termination of the user's account.
  • Legal Action: Copyright holders may pursue legal action to seek compensation for damages resulting from unauthorized use of their works.
  • Loss of Revenue: Royalties from infringing content may be forfeited, and payments may be withheld.

Changes to the Copyright Infringement Policy

Free Global reserves the right to modify or update this policy at any time. Any changes will be communicated to registered users. It is important that all users regularly review this policy to stay informed about their rights and responsibilities regarding copyright infringement.
